    THE DUKE PRESENTED A CHARTER DECLARING THE TOWN OF KAMPALA A CITY. HE BECAME THE FIRST FREEMAN. HE AND THE DUCHESS ARE REPRESENTING QUEEN ELIZABETH AND THE INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATIONS.

    ALSO PRESENT AT THE TOWN HALL - THE GOVERNOR OF UGANDA, SIR WALTER COUTTS. LATER, THE KABAKA OF UGANDA WELCOMED THE ROYAL VISITORS AT THE BULANGE (PARLIAMENT BUILDING) FOR A GOVERNMENT RECEPTION.

    BIG CROWDS GATHERED OUTSIDE. WHILE THE RECEPTION WAS Being HELD, THEY DANCED AND SANG. THE SOUND OF DRUM-BEATS FILLED THE AIR AS UGANDANS WENT WILD WITH ENTHUSIASM.
