    After completing the summit talks on Spanish colonial rule in the Sahara, the two visiting foreign leaders in Mauritania, President Boumedienne of Algeria and King Hassan of Morocco, arrived in the capital, Noukchott, on Monday (Sept 14). The summit talks had been held in Nouabidou last week and the leaders of Mauritania, Algeria and Morocco worked out a united front to oppose Spanish Rule.

    First to arrive was the Algerian leader who was greeted at the airport by top-level Mauritanian officials representing President Ould Daddah.

    Later in the day King Hassan of Morocco arrived at the capital's airport and President Boumedienne welcomed him. After inspecting a guard of honour the leaders drove by motorcade to the Presidential palace. On Tuesday and Wednesday the two visiting heads of state continued their discussions with President Ould Daddah and attended a gala dinner. The President has emphasised the positive results of the talks concerning Spanish Sahara and has said the three countries are determined to end the Spanish presence in the area.

    SYNOPSIS: After completing the summit talks on Spanish colonial rule in the Sahara the two visiting foreign leaders in Mauritania arrived in Nouakchott on Monday.
