Background: Top fashion designer Pierre Courreges launched his 1970 Autumn-Winter collection in Paris this week, and following the trend has leaned strongly towards the maxi-midi look.
Courreges has used muted colours with wool and vinyl as the main fabrics aiming at a sober and elegant look. Jump suits have taken preference over trouser suits for Courreges and see-through blouses make up for the loss of leg show in the longer skirts.
The wet-look features in the Courreges collection too, both in jumpsuits, coats and as a trimming.
Highlight of the collection for evening wear is a black wet-look maxi coat with red polka-dot lining matching the red jersey slim-line maxi dress trimmed with double front black buttoning on the skirt. The tight fitting bodice with flowing skirts give way to the elegant-look Courreges projects with his new collection.
