    A week of British films was opened in Moscow on October the 20th at the Udarnik cinema.

    In the evening the Soviet spectators were visited by British film workers: film directors Frank Launder and Ronald Neame, and film actress Kay Walsh.

    Sir Patrick Rielly, the British Ambassador to the Soviet Union, attended the opening of the Festival.

    The Festival was opened by Deputy Minister of Culture of the USSR, Danilov, who warmly greeted the British guests.

    Speeches more made by Sir Patrick Rielly and Alexander Zguridi, Soviet film director, and Miss Kay Walsh.

    Among these present was the Soviet film actress Iana Makarova.

    The film RICHARD III opened the festival.
