Background: An exhibition on the wreckages of U.S. planes was recently held in Hanoi in celebration of the brilliant victory of the 1,000th U.S. aircraft shot down by the armymen and civilians of North Vietnam.
1,005 intruding U.S. gangster planes were shot down in Vietnam between August 5th 1964 to April 29th this year. This is the wreckage of the 1,000th U.S. plane which was shot down in Back Thai Province. The exhibition shattered the myth about the so-called air superiority of the U.S. and showed the serious losses suffered by the U.S. air force.
On display were wreckages of various types of U.S. planes shot down by the heroic Vietnamese people. They composed a brilliant record of the victories scored by the armymen and civilians of North Vietnam in their struggle against U.S. aggression and for national salvation, fully demonstrating the tremendous might of the people's war.
