  • Description

A sixty-eight-year-old Russian author has been awarded this year's Nobel Prize for Literature. He is Boris Pasternak, whose first novel, Doctor Zhivago, has become a best-seller in several Western countries, including Britain, though publication in the Soviet Union has so far been forbidden.

Mrs. Manya Harari, who's a student of Russian culture and joint translator of the novel, was asked by Godfrey Talbot about Mr. Pasternak's standing in Russia.
