SYNOPSIS: After seventeen years in exile, the former President of Argentina, Juan Peron, returned last month to take up residence in this villa in the Argentine capital. On Friday he was continuing to see a stream of people in a series of discussions that have been going on since his return.... He was carrying on these talks despite a ruling by the Supreme Court the same day, rejecting his appeal against a deadline barring him from running for the Presidency in the General Election next March.

The question of Senor Peron's eligibility to run in the General Election, came into question because he failed to return from his exile until well after the deadline set by the military government of Alejandro Lanusse.

But none of these problems was evident as the former President walked from his house to meet a group of enthusiastic supporters.

Senor Peron's youthful supporters were members of a Buenos Aires football club. They also presented him with a team trophy as a symbol of their support.

Despite the set-back to Senor Peron caused by the Supreme Court decision, he may still be a candidate in the General Elections. Political parties have until December 21st to declare their candidates. So, further action by the Peronist's Justicialist Party, or the "Liberation Front" Alliance it has formed, is still possible.
