    AUDIO Commentator describes the opening of the World Theatre Season at the Aldwych with a performance of the 'Insect Play' Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon were greeted by Peter Hall, the managing director of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

    Commentator (Sarah Ward) says that the man behind the scenes is impresario Peter Daubeny.

    Sarah Ward: Says that during the 9 weeks season, the Aldwych Theatre was host to 5 national companies - Czech, Italian, Greek, Polish and Russian. Describes work involved in preparing for season. The R.S.C. Moved out, the orchestra pit was uncovered, translation arrangements were made, signs for foreign actors were put up, scenery arrived and was unloaded.

    David Reid the chief electrician describe the difficulties of working with foreign companies.

    Sarah Ward says that the opening night went off smoothly but for Daubeny the worries were not over.
