Background: During a tour of the major cities of Pakistan, a parliamentary delegation from the United Arab Emirates visited the National Assembly in Islamabad on Thursday (29 April).
The delegation was greeted by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sahibzada Farooq Ali. After an exchange of views on parliamentary affairs in the UAE and Pakistan, the delegation as presented with copies in Arabic of the Permanent Constitution of Pakistan.
The UAE delegation was headed by Mr. Thani Bin Abdullah, Speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates. Other members of the delegation were; Mr. Mohammad Raham Al Amri, Second Deputy Speaker of the Council; Mr. Ahmad Mohammad Al Hurai, Mr. Rashid Abdullah Omran, Mr. Rashid Mohammad Saif, Mr. Salim Ibrahim Darwish, Mr. Salem Mohammad Shamsi and Dr. Sayyed Ibrahim.
After visiting the National Assembly the UAE delegation called on the Chairman of the Pakistan Senate, Mr. Habidullah Khan, who explained to them the parliamentary and constitutional affairs of Pakistan. Mr. khan praised the role of the UAE leaders in promoting goodwill between Pakistan and the Emirates.
