Background: The Tel Aviv suburb of Ramat Hasharon grew up around a govt. arms factory. four years ago, after an accidental explosion caused the deaths of four people living nearby, the govt. promised it would be moved. Today, another explosion injured 10 people: four in the factory grounds, and six nearby, mostly children cut by flying glass at a near-by school. By night-fall, 700 residents of the area filled damage claims. Another accident, a few months rained hot cinders on houses in the area, setting many fires but miraculously injuring no one. Residents were circulating a petition almost immediately after the explosion demanding removal of the plant from an area where 15,000 people live with a mile of it.
