    Mikis Theodorakis, the Greek composer now reunited with his family after release from detention in Greece has been welcomed in Moscow by members of the Soviet Composers' Union.

    After spending 20 months as a political prisoners in Greece, the 44-year-old composer was released last May to be reunited with his family in France. Mrs Theodorakis and the two children were smuggled out of Greece with the help of French Radical Party leader M. Servan-Schreiber for the reunion.

    Now in Moscow, for the first time since 1966, Mikis Theodorakis has urged members of the Soviet Composers' Union to help carry on the fight to release dozens of other Greek patriots still behind bars.

    At the meeting of the Composers' Union Mr Theodorakis showed his colleagues his latest work, the oratorio Inspired March, which he wrote in prison.
