    CAMERAS WERE ON THE SPOT IN WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, U.S.A., ON FRIDAY, AS A TORNADO, KNOWN LOCALLY AS "A TWISTER", APPROACHED THE TOWN. THE TORNADO BLASTED THROUGH THE TOWN'S NORTHWESTERN SUBURB AND THE NEARBY SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE. IT CARVED A SWATH HALF A MILE BROAD, KILLING SEVEN PEOPLE, INJURING 81 OTHERS AND WRECKING 240 HOMES.

    THE TORNADO WROUGHT ITS DEVASTATION IN JUST TWENTY MINUTES. IN THIS TIME, HEAVY RAILWAY WAGONS WERE SUCKED UP AND FLUNG HUNDREDS OF YARDS AND CARS WERE PULPED.
