    Some 60,000 people turned out tow watch the celebrations in Athens which marked the 18th anniversary since the end of the Civil War in Greece. The celebrations, held yesterday (Sunday) were attended by government leaders and Princess Irene.

    The celebrations were held in the Panathenian Stadium and were attended by the Greek Prime Minister, Mr Constantine Kollias and various members of his cabinet.

    Also present was Princess Irene who represented her brother, King Constantine, who was abroad in Canada.

    The highlight of the celebrations was a march past by various contingents of the Greek armed forces. Later there were tableaux depicting various incidents from Greek history such as the Trojan and Marathon wars.
