PEPORTER (MIDENTIFIED) " ... describe the results of your visit to the United Stater and tacks."
DAYAN: "I am more or less satisfied with the visit ...clarification from the Pentagon abut ongoing supply of arms to Israel ...more or less satisfied with the visit."
QUESTION: "??? Does this ... (inaudible) satisfy?"
DAYAN: "I don't think that request is right, is the proper name - its an ongoing supply that has been going on for a long time & I'm more or less satisfied with that."
Q: "How does the American Administration see the escalation along the Syrian frontier."
DAYAN: "Wewll they would like it to stop; don't know if escalation is actually the right word. We don't like it and they don't like it and both of us want to reach a disengagement about this but I don't think it will be a major crisis -certainly not unless other countries like Egypt don't come in. they hope that Egypt will not come in"
Q: "Do you think it will be a major crisis?"
DAYAN "I hope not."
Q: "Since youve be a away there's been a major alert on the Syrian front."
DAYAN "Not because.."
Q: "Not because of, youve' been away. Just how serious its the situation out there?"
DAYAN: "T don't know. I go from there to the office and probably be wiser when I go over there."
Q. "General Dayan is there a possibility that.."
Sound of questioners often difficult to hear but Dayans voice O.K.
