Firstly the children are tested with electrical apparatus to find their exact degree of deafness and no determine how perceptible they would be to the equipment.

Operating along the same lines as telephone the new apparatus enables the children to listen and learn speech by recognising the rhythm of voice vibrations. The vibrations are amplified over a special telephone so that the children may recognise them on a special hearing aid.

Specially trained teachers are employed top aid the children with the new equipment.
