Background: The vicious storm that lashed the Maritimes is believed to have claimed the lives of two lobster fisherman who have been the target of a massive air-sea search for the last forty-eight hours. Their lobster boat has been found overturned in choppy waters off the southwestern tip of Nova Scotia. Meanwhile the eighteen members of the crew of the Liberian freighter Fury are safe ashore in Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia.

Fury slammed into the rocks off Barachois Point, during the height of the storm. Forty foot waves crashed over her bridge as the crew hung on for their lives. When the tide went out dawn they dropped ladders over the side of the ship and strolled the three hundred feet to shore. The ?ounk skipper of Fury, George Pateras said the crew was lucky to escape alive. He said the abandoned wreckage of his ship isn't worth salvaging. However, he plans to make a sentimental visit to the freighter today. The films of Fury were taken by tracker aircraft of the Royal Canadian Navy.
