    The first delegation from the People's Republic of China to the United Nations leaded in Paris for brief consultations en route to New York on Wednesday (10th November). Led by Vice-Foreign Minister Chiao Kuan Hua, the party arrived at Orly Airport from Shanghai. Police and security men prevented reporters and cameramen from approaching too close to the Chinese officials, Most of the 44-shorting delegation drove from the aircraft in a special bus, with the leaders travelling by car. The delegation, which stayed in Paris for the night, before continuing to New York, were welcomed by Mr. Huang Hua, newly-appointed permanent U.N. representative, who had flown in earlier from Montreal.
