    President Chivu Stoica of Rumania is in Iran on a seven-day State Visit at the invitation of the Shah. The President arrived in Tehran, capital of Iran, on Saturday and was greeted at the airport by the Shah, Queen Farah, and the Prime Minister of Iran, Mr. Hoveyda.

    The visit shows the growing warmth of relations between Rumania and Iran, which a Iranian Embassy official described in London today (Wednesday) as "very good indeed".

    Co-operation between the two countries in increasing in both the cultural and economic fields -- and these are expected to be on the agenda of talks between President Stoica and the Shah.

    The Embassy official said Rumania and Iran have common points of view on many international problems, and similar aims both at home and abroad. In the matter of aid, Rumania is building a tractor factory in Iran and is stepping up its imports from Iran.

    President Stoica arrived in Tehran to a 21-gun salute. The national anthems of both countries were played, and the President inspected a Iranian Guard of Honour. He was presented with a golden Key to the City of Tehran, and then drove with the Shah and Queen Farah to the Gulistan Palace, where the President is staying.

    The Shah gave a State Banquet at the Palace the same night in President Stoica's honour.
