    On April 2, the second day of his seven-days State visit to Kuwait, King Saud of Saudi Arabia stood with the Sheikh, Sir Abdullah al Salim al Sabah, to take the salute at the first ceremonial military parade by the Sheikhdom's newly formed army.

    With them on the dais at Kuwait's new airport - not yet completed - was Field Marshal Sir Abdullah al Mubarak al Sabah, the deputy Ruler. Army Chief of Staff, he is also Minister of the Army and Public Security.

    King Saud - who was born in Kuwait - is there to strengthen economic, cultural and friendly relations. His father, Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud, was a refugee in Kuwait during his war with Ibn Raschid, the ex-ruler of Najd (A part of Saudi Arabia).
