  • Description

An awe-inspiring one-man art exhibition opened in New York, United States recently - the work of Indian spiritual guru Shri Chinmoy, whose followers include many well-known personalities like pop stars John McLaughlin and Carlos Santana.

The ten thousand paintings on show were completed in just one hundred days - an extraordinary feat by any standards, but Shri Chinmoy says that he had the "Will of the Supreme" guiding him in his task.

43 year-old Shri Chinmoy left India nearly eleven years ago and since then has established meditation centres in virtually every capital city in he western world. He does not claim to be a unique master for one and all, but concentrates on guiding people who are particularly suited to his methods.

To celebrate the completion of his massive artistic output his disciples throughout the world have been asked to make a special contribution. In the United Kingdom the Shri Chinmoy centre in London bought one thousand Easter eggs, which they gave to a children's charity.

This film is serviced with an English commentary by TVN reporter David Kline, which is for use. A cued transcript appears overleaf There is also a short speech by Shri Chinmoy, which is transcribed below.
