Mr. Arumugam is one of 28 people in Kuala Lumpur who get paid to sleep?
Mr. Arumugam is one of 28 people in Kuala Lumpur who get paid to sleep on the job -- but by doing so the takes part in the city's anti-malaria programme. Six nights a week Mr. Arumugam and his colleagues sleep in a hut near a potential mosquito breeding ground. During the night, he gets up and traps mosquitos in a test-tube. The mosquitos are then sent to the Medical Research Institute for examination. If any are found to be rich in malaria, the area they came from is sprayed and cleaned to kill the larvae.
