    Taiwan's Ambassador to the United Nations, Mr. Liu Chieh, yesterday (Thursday) called for a ballot to be taken in the People's Republic of China to determine if the Chinese want to be represented by the Peking or Taipei Government. The Ambassador was speaking during the United Nations debate on a seat for China.

    Mr. Chieh said that his Government's policy on the question hadn't changed since the mid-1950's when the Foreign Minister made a request then for a ballot in China. Here's part of Mr. Chieh's speech;
