THE BRAZILIANS ARRIVED FROM ETHIOPIA, AND ARE ALSO VISITING TANZANIA, UGANDA AND THE IVORY COAST.

    LIKE BRAZIL, KENYA'S ECONOMY IS BASED ON COFFEE. THE DELEGATION TOURED SEVERAL KENYAN COFFEE ESTATES. THE BRAZILIANS DISCUSSED WITH THE PRESIDENT COFFEE PRODUCTION AND RELATIONS BETWEEN BRAZIL AND KENYA. SENHOR MACHADO IS TRYING TO ENCOURAGE THE LEADERS OF THE COFFEE-GROWING COUNTRIES TO JOIN IN HIS MERCHANDISING CAMPAIGN.

    MR. MACHADO SAYS THAT ONE-THIRD OF THE WORLD'S POPULATION ARE COFFEE DRINKERS BUT AVERAGE ONLY ONE CUP A DAY. "WE HAVE GOT TO MAKE IT TWO CUPS A DAY. IF WE CAN, THEN OUR PROBLEMS WOULD DISAPPEAR," HE'S REPORTED AS SAYING.
