    THE PROTOTYPE OF THE ANGLO-FRENCH JAGUAR SUPERSONIC STRIKE-TRAINER AIRCRAFT HAS MADE ITS DEBUT IN PARIS. THE JAGUAR IS THE FIRST MILITARY AIRCRAFT BUILT JOINTLY BY BRITAIN AND FRANCE.

    TODAY MORE THAN 2,000 PEOPLE, MOSTLY BRITISH AND FRENCH GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND SENIOR AIR FORCE OFFICERS, SAW THE JAGUAR ROLL OUT OF ITS HANGAR AND TAXI TO THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE FIRST TEST OF THE PROTOTYPE IS SCHEDULED FOR THE END OF MAY OR EARLY IN JUNE.

    THE PROTOTYPE IS TO BE DISMANTLED WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS AND IT WILL BE TAKEN TO ISTRES, WHICH IS THE FRENCH AIR FORCE'S MAIN TESTING CENTRE IN SOUTHERN FRANCE.

    THE JAGUAR, WHICH WAS BUILT AT A COST OF GBP500,000 STERLING, IS THE FIRST JET STRIKE-TRAINER TO BE BUILT IN EUROPE. THE FIRST OF THEM ARE SCHEDULED TO BE DELIVERED TO THE FRENCH AIR FORCE IN 1971 AND TO THE ROYAL AIR FORCE IN 1972.
