Background: Kuwait beat North Korea by two goals to nil in their World Soccer Cup, Asian Zone Group B2, match in Teheran on Tuesday (15 May) -- their only win in the group series.
Both of Kuwait's goals were scored by Hamad Bohamed -- in the 31st and 51st minutes.
In the other Asian Zone Group B2 game played the same day, Syria beat Iran one-nil. The only goal was scored by Abdulghani Tatish in the eleventh minute.
As a result Iran leads the Final group table with nine points, Syria is second with seven, North Korea third with Five and Kuwait last with three.
Iran will now meet Australia, the winners of Asian Zone Group B1 in the next round of eliminating games for next year's world cup in West Germany.
