SHAZLI: "Recently, we have in Egypt about 50 F-5-E. And this aircraft according to what we know--and everybody knows and the Ministry feels, could not at all deal with F-15, which Israel is having now, And I do refer to what General Brown, who was the previous Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces in the United States, and he said, by the letter as far as I recall, in front of the Congress Committee, the case I am referring to ... I don't think that any person, unless he's mad or something like that, can fly an F-5 against F-15s, or even an F-16."

General Shazli said that he expected to leave Portugal in the near future. He said "I will accept the nationality of any of the 21 Arab countries other than Egypt". He said he was advocating a return to democracy in Egypt, not a coup, though he did not exclude that possibility.
