AT THE END OF THE SALE MORE THAN GBP18,500 HAD BEEN REALISED. THIS SALE WAS ONLY A SMALL PART OF THE MASSIVE STAMP COLLECTION OF A FRENCH TOBACCO MAGNATE, MAURICE BURRUS, WHO DIED IN 1959. THE COLLECTION, SAID TO BE THE WORLD'S LARGEST, WAS VALUED AT A RECORD GBP3 MILLION.
