Background: Nationalist incidents on and around the borders of Ulster and Eire are becoming more and more frequent. Although they seldom amount to anything more than raids by light 'guerilla' bands the damage caused so far this year runs into many thousands of pounds.
One of the latest outrages was the blowing upof a customs hut at Clontiverin, near Newtownbutler, Co. Fernanagh.
This is the second time the customs point here has been demolished. The original one was blown up on Armistice day last year and since then Revenue officials had been using the Ministry of Agriculture veterinary surgeon's wooden office on the roadside nearby.
A road contractor's van from Enniskillen was brought as an emergency customs point and border business carries on as before--except that Police and 'S' special constanbles are now patrolling the area in case of further incidents.
