  • Description

French tight-wire aces Claude collins and Francine Pary - she holds the woman's endurance record for the 'sport' - crossed the Padirac Gorge in South-west France, Mar 28.

The gorge is 230 feet deep and 90 feet wide at its top, but Collins crossed it blindfold and without safety net. Perhaps the two champions will cross Niagara Falls one day; their great compatriot Blondin did so in 1859 - and with sone-one on his back. But they'll have to learn a great deal of patience before capturing the world endurance record; that stands at 113 hours.
