NEW DELHI, Oct. 3 (UNI) -- Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the Shah of Iran today conferred for over an hour without aides and are understood to have discussed the international situation and the economic crisis stemming from raw material shortages and on price hike.
The Shah's proposal for regional economic co-operation is understood to have figured prominently during the talks.
The two leaders were joined later by Foreign Ministers Swarna Singff and Abbas Ali Khalatbari.
The meeting continued for an other 70 minutes. They are believed to have apprised their leaders of the feasibility reports on economic co-operation prepared by the two sides.
As the leaders were having talks among themselves, the officials of the two sides met separately to discuss some of the details of the economic co-operation projects.
The two leaders are also understood to have briefly discussed the situation in the sub-continent with Mrs. Gandhi explaining the initiatives taken by indian to normalise the relations. The situation in West Asia and Cyprus and the Pakistan Afghanistan relations also came up for review.
The talks between Mrs. Gandhi and the Shah would be resumed when the Prime Minister hosts a dinner for the Shahanshah and Shahabanou tonight.
