    QUEEN ELIZABETH, THE QUEEN MOTHER, VISITED TOBAGO IN THE WEST INDIES DURING HER TOUR OF THE CARIBBEAN ISLANDS. SHE ARRIVED AT SCARBOROUGH, THE CAPITAL, ON THE ROYAL YACHT BRITANNIA ON SUNDAY, (MARCH 29).)
    AS SHE CAME ASHORE, THE QUEEN MOTHER WAS GREETED AT THE HARBOUR JETTY BY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL, SIR SOLOMON HOCHOY AND HIS WIFE. ALSO ON HAND TO GREET THE ROYAL VISITOR WERE A DETACHMENT OF ISLAND POLICE AND GROUPS OF CHILDREN AND BOY SCOUTS.

    IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS A BUSY PROGRAMME BEGAN, FIRST THERE WAS A LUNCHEON AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE, DURING WHICH A LOCAL "CALYPSO" BAND PERFORMED AT THE REQUEST OF THE QUEEN MOTHER. AFTER LUNCH SHE CHATTED WITH MEMBERS OF THE BAND, EXPRESSING HER PLEASURE AT THE WAY THEY HAD PERFORMED.

    LATER SHE VISITED PERSONAL FRIENDS ON THE ISLAND AND INSPECTED A COCONUT PLANTATION BEFORE RETURNING TO THE BRITANNIA.
