    THE BRITISH MERCHANT SHIP "KINROSS" ARRIVED IN GIBRALTAR YESTERDAY (SATURDAY) ESCORTED BY THE BRITISH DESTROYED "DECOY" FOLLOWING TROUBLE WITH THE CHINESE CREW. CAPTAIN ALEC MUNRO RADIOED FOR ASSISTANCE ON THURSDAY WHEN TROUBLE AROSE AFTER HE HAD DISCIPLINED A CREW MEMBER; HE FEARED FOR THE SAFETY OF HIS OFFICERS AND HIMSELF. HE ANNOUNCED THAT HE WOULD WAIT FOR A REPLACEMENT IN GIBRALTAR, AS HE REFUSED TO PUT TO SEA AGAIN WITH THE SAME CREW.

    CAPTAIN MUNRO -- WHO WAS ACCOMPANIED ON THE VOYAGE BY HIS CHINESE WIFE AND FOUR-YEAR-OLD SON -- ALSO SAID THE CHINESE CREW MEMBERS WORE MAO BADGES, CARRIED COPIES OF CHAIRMAN MAO'S "THOUGHTS" AND HELD POLITICAL MEETINGS. THERE WAS NO FURTHER TROUBLE AFTER THE ARRIVAL OF THE "DECOY".

    CAPTAIN RICKARD AND MR. BELOTTI, CAPTAIN OF THE PORT OF GIBRALTAR AND SHIPPING MASTER RESPECTIVELY, BOARDED THE "KINROSS" TOGETHER WITH THE OWNERS' AGENTS TO INVESTIGATE THE SITUATION.
