United States Presidential adviser Henry Kissinger flew direct from Paris to San Clemente in California yesterday to report to President Nixon on his Asian tour. In Paris, Doctor Kissinger conferred with the American Chief negotiator at the Paris peace talks, Mr Davis Bruce. The discussions between President Nixon and Doctor Kissinger will probably shape the United States response to the communist peace proposals for Vietnam.
SYNOPSIS: American Presidential advisor, Doctor Henry Kissinger has flown direct from Paris to California to report to President Nixon on his 11 day world tour which took in Saigon. From Los Angeles airport, Dr Kissinger flew to San Clemente, the summer White House, for the discussions. The outcome will decide the American answer to the latest peace proposals by the communists over Vietnam. Another topic sure to come under discussion is the reported retirement of Mr David Bruce, the chief American negotiator at the Paris peace talks. The 73 years old veteran diplomat is apparently to leave his post. The man tipped to succeed him is 53 year old William Porter, at present the United States Ambassador to South Korea. No early statement on the talks between the President and Doctor Kissinger is expected.
