    GERMANY'S HUBERT HAHNE AND DIETER QUESTER, DRIVING A WORK'S B.M.W., WON THE GUARDS INTERNATIONAL SIX HOUR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP TOURING CAR RACE AT BRANDS HATCH CIRCUIT TODAY (SUNDAY).

    THE GEORGE LOOS ENTERED PORSCHE (NO. 56) STUCK CLOSE TO FELLOW GERMAN DRIVER HAHNE (NO. 62) DURING THE EARLY PART OF THE RACE.

    BRITISH LEYLANDS MORRIS COOPER 'S', DRIVEN BY JOHN RHODES AND PADDY HOPKIRK WERE WELL UP IN THE FIELD AND MANAGED TO KEEP THEIR POSITION OF SEVENTH TO THE END OF THE RACE.

    ANOTHER CAR FROM THE SAME WORKS TEAM WAS DRIVEN BY JOHN HANDLEY AND ROGER ENEVER.

    HANDLEY AND ENEVER WERE THE FIRST TO TAKE THE FLAG BUT WERE NOT OVERALL WINNERS. THEY WERE THIRD AND FINISHED SECOND IN THEIR CLASS.

    OVERALL WINNERS HAHNE AND QUESTER CLOCKED AN AVERAGE SPEED OF 84.36 M.P.H. RUNNERS UP WERE BRITONS JOHN FITZPATRICK AND TREVOR TAYLOR DRIVING A FORD ESCORT. THIRD WERE GUNTHER HUBER OF AUSTRIA AND WALTER TRESER OF GERMANY DRIVING A B.M.W. ALPINA.
