    Sir Edmund Hillary and Desmond Doig, who have been on a Yeti hunting expedition in Nepal, arrived at London airport, Dec 22, with a scalp that the people of Khumjung believe to have come from a Yeti. They were accompanied by Khumjo Chumbi, a headman of the small village near the slopes of Mount Everest. He is the scalp's guardian.

    Experts in the United States and Paris have already examined the scalp and now Sir Edmund is looking for a British zoologist to advance an opinion. Khumjo Chumbi claims to have seen a Yeti three times. When asked to imitated the Yeti's call he gave five hoarse cries.

    In Khumjung the scalp is held in respect as a good luck charm it has been in the village for about 240 years. Sir Edmund and his two companions were booked to fly in the jet airliner that crashed in Brooklyn, Dec 16. He told reporters he didn't believe in charms. They missed the aircraft because there was more work for them to do in Chicago.
