    Two United States astronauts -- Captain James Lovell and Colonel Stuart Roosa -- visited President Tombalbaye at Fort-Lamy in Chad last week. They are delegates of the American 'People to People' organisation.

    They gave him photographs of Africa taken form the moon and the delegation leader, Dr. Leonard Milton, handed over sports equipment and film projectors for the armed forces.

    Captain Lovell took part in two Gemini and two Apollo missions, and Colonel Roosa piloted Apollo-14.

    Three other astronauts who flew in the Apollo-17 moon mission are at present on a tour of African and Asian states.
