Background: The Arab nations are passing through one of the most critical periods in their history. That opinion was expressed by the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Subah As-Salem Al-Subah on Tuesday (February 11) when he opened the first session of the fourth National Assembly in Kuwait.
The Emir said there were many important developments taking place in the Gulf region which would have major effects on its future.
The new assembly was elected on January 27. The Prime Minister, who is also heir apparent, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber introduced the members of his cabinet to the assembly to secure their vote of confidence.
The Emir said that the Cabinet and the Assembly members faced grave problems in the coming session but he expressed confidence that they would carry out the mission the people elected them to do.
