Background: At Bodiam, in east Sussex, it was a race -- a challenge for a silver cup between the ladies of Bodiam and of north Somercotes in Lincolnshire. It's handicap according to age over a course of two-hundred yards.

They must toss the pancake at the start and again twenty yards further on.

Bodiam wins and takes the challenge cup from Somercotes. Mrs. Weddle was fastest with just under thirty seconds.
