    One of B.C.'s most impressive Centennial attractions the - Searchlight Tattoo - began an eight-night run in Vancouver last night.

    About eight-thousand people turned out to watch the well-rehearsed program at Empire Stadium. Some nine-hundred serviceman from Canada, the United States and Britain took part. Here are the massed military bands.

    Members of the B.C. Highland Dancing Association gave a display of dancing. They were accompanied by the bands of the Seaforth and Queens Own Cameron Highlanders.

    Now the drum and bugle band of the Queens Own Rifles of Canada.

    The Tattoo is under the direction of Brigadier Alisdair MacLean. He says that this is the largest of 15 that he has directed. It include precision marching as well as massed-band music.

    Several stirring Scottish airs were played by the massed pipes and drums often Canadian bands.

    A drill display by man from HMCS Naden included a demonstration of precision firing.
