A customer looked inside the bag and said, "My God, it looks like a bomb." It exploded just as he handed it to a part-time clerk--65-year-old Mrs. Catherine Lebeter. She was killed.

The man who found the bomb lost both of his hands in the explosion. He and his wife were hospitalized in critical condition. Their six-year-old son, for whom they wanted to buy a toy, also was hospitalized.

However, the police investigation will include a check of former employed and others who might have had a grudge against the store.

The bomb shattered showcases within a 25-foot radius Damage was estimated at $2,000.
