THE SECOND, WHEN A SMALL GOYA FORTRAIT OF HIS FRIEND AND PUPIL ASENSIO JULIA WAS KNOCKED DOWN AT A RECORD PRICE FOR ANY WORK BY THE SPANISH ARTIST - 170,000 POUNDS STERLING (408,000 DOLLARS).

    AFTER THE INTERRUPTION, THE DOMENICHINO WAS BOUGHT FOR 100,000 POUNDS STERLING (240 DOLLARS) BY DEALERS FOR AN UNDISCLOSED CLIENT.
