Canada's new Ambassador to Chad, Mr. Pierre Assalin, on September 30th presented his credentials to President Francois Tombalbaye.
M. Tombalbaye told Mr. Assalin to feel free in Chad because it was a friendly land, and nothing could break the friendly relations built up with Canada in ten years of co-operation.
Mr. Assalin said Canada was happy to co-operate with Chad, whether on the basis of current bilateral exchange or by Canada's participation in international forums.

President Tombalbaye, in reply, said Chad highly appreciated the co-operation between the two countries. His government was very happy with the work of Canadian officials in Chad, and nothing could break up the relations between them.
