Background: Prime Minister Nehru, after his successful tour of Japan, Burma and Hong Kong arrived in Delhi at the Palam Aerodrome. He was accompanied by Mr. N.R. Pillai, Secretary General, External Affairs Ministry. Mr. Nehrus trip is already in the world news as he has earned the much needed Yen Credit for India. Already the Japanese are working on the arrangements for the loan. Moreover the Communique issued by both the Premiers affirmed their faith in the Co-Existence and Panch Sheel. Both condemned the Nuclear Tests. It is expected that there may be a flow of Japanese Technicians to help the Indian Engineering Ventures in the Second Plan. He was received at the Aerodrome, among others by the Indian President, Dr. Rajindar Prasad, members of the Diplomatic core and many MPs.
