    30 Japanese students arrived in Bangkok over the weekend on board the vessel "Nippon Maru" to start a new Southeast Asian Youth Programme, initiated by Japanese Prime Minister Makuei Tanaka.

    The programme was started by Prime Minister Tanaka to promote better understanding among Asian youths during his trip to Association of Southeast Asian Nation (???) countries last January.

    The Japanese student will be joined by students from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia ??? Philippines for month-long trip on board the ship to five Asian countries.

    The trip will enable the youths to exchanges cultural views and promote better understanding ??? students.

    During his Southeast ??? early this year, Prime Minister Tanaka was confronted by ??? student demonstrates, particularly in Thailand and Indonesia.

    The students were demonstrating against alleged "Japanese Imperialism" in the why Japan conducted its foreign investments in Asia.
