At the headquarters of Air Africa in Abidjan, President and General Manager Mr. Cheikh Fal signed an agreements on Tuesday (July 14) to buy two Japanese YSllA-300 aircraft.
Mr. Ukyo Kaku signed the agreement on behalf of the manufacturers of the Japanese aircraft, Nippon Aeronautical Manufacturing Company.
With him were two other representatives from the firm, Mr. H. Yajjima and M. Mizutani.
The Japanese demonstrated their aircraft earlier this year, in the course of a sales tour round Africa. Air Afrique's purchase is part of a plan to replace their D.C. 4's.
The YSllA-300 is a dual-purpose machine, able to carry up to 60 passengers or six tons of freight. Its range is 800 KM (497 MLS).
