President Bourguiba met Egyptian special envoy Dr. Mohammed Zayyat at Skanes, 112 miles (180 Kms.) south of Tunisia on Sunday (November 18th). Dr. Zayyat said afterwards that he had delivered a message from President Sadat thanking the Tunisians for their support in the recent war with Israel.
While in Tunisia he also discussed Arab economic affairs with Prime Minister, M. Hedi Nouria, and had a meeting with the French Foreign Minister, M. Michel Jobert who was in Tunisia on a visit. Dr. Zayyat later left for Libya. There has been considerable diplomatic activity among the Arab countries in preparation for the summit of Arab leaders in Algiers later this month.
Another meeting to discuss Arab affairs was held on Sunday in Rabat, Morocco, between King Hassan and the Saudi Arabian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Omar Al-Sakaff. Morocco sent an expeditionary force of 1800 troops to help Egypt and Syria in the recent war with Israel, while Saudi Arabia was a leading supporter of the decision to limit or cut off the supply of Arab oil to States supporting Israel. Both countries will attend the summit conference where Arab leaders will try and co-ordinate their policy on oil supplies to the West.
