Background: William Foyd, the American actor who played the cowboy screen hero Hopalong Cassidy, died yesterday in California. He was 78. Boyd's film career began in Hollywood in 1919, but it was not until 1934 that Boyd first played his familiar role or Hopalong Cassidy, a clean-living cowboy who rode the West on his white horse Topper, chasing rustlers and other law-breakers.
This film shows William Boyd arriving at London Airport in July 1954 with a party of American school-boys for a tour of Britain, and talking to young fans.
