    A Soviet amateur ice-hockey team opened its Canadian tour on Saturday evening (2 September) in Montreal with a clear-cut win over a side made up of leading players from Canada's professional National Hockey League. The game was the first in a series of eight to be played between the Soviet National Team and Team Canada...the Canadian All-Star Club. The home said built up an early lead but as the three spell progressed the Russians began to overwhelm them. The final a core was 7-3 in favour of the visitors. Canadian Prime Mistier, Mr. Pierre Trudau, was among those present and started the game off.
