Background: President Anwar Sadat of Egypt flew to Moscow yesterday (Wednesday) for a tough session of talks with Soviet leaders. At stake is the future peace of the Middle East.
Before setting out, President Sadat again repeated his conviction that war with Israel is imminent. But he added that he couldn't fix a deadline for the start of hostilities until he had conferred with Soviet leaders. The Kremlin, however, has been stressing the need for a political settlement.
