The polling in the fourth elections of India is almost complete. About eight states went to the Polls today including the prestige fights of ex congressman Krishna Menon with Barve of Congress in Bombay. The counting of votes stared simultaneously in about 10 states today and the results of the all the seats in India are expected to be out within a week from today.
When results are announce, about 70% of the 250 million Indians would have exercised their franchise. 1.8 million ballot boxes would have done their duty and 1 million dollars would have been spent on elections.
In Jaipur, counting of votes started this morning. According to reliable sources it will take about six hours for the counting in each constituency to be completed. A large number of people anxious to know the results, cheered Maharani Gaytri Devi, as she arrived to supervise the counting. Later she turned to her workers and addressed them.
